Representing Motion Project
(paper, board)
In this project, students constructed models demonstrating the motion of an object. First, they were required to do a drawing showing an object in motion, studying the Italian "Dynamist" movement. Then they built models based on these drawings, using color and composition to demonstrate movement..
Portable Path Project
(foamcore and watercolor paper)
The assignment here was to engage in an exploratory walk, and then "map" it with foamcore and paper. A final ironic twist to the project was that the model of the walk was itself to be made portable!
Ball Drop Project
(foamcore)
Here, the students had a difficult assignment: build a structure that would allow a steel ball to roll along a path for precisely twenty seconds from start to finish.
